All truth goes through three stages
First it is ridiculed
Then it is violently opposed
Finally it is accepted as self-evident.
Arthur Schopenhauer (1788-1860)

One has to wonder when the Catholic community will ever get to the stage of “self-evident” regarding accepting  the culpability of the bishops of our church in the protection of sex offenders within their own ranks as well as within the priesthood.

If only the stories of abusive priests, bishops and cardinals were as exaggerated as Schopenhauer’s hair in this painting. If only!
